Boats and Mowers and Bears! Oh, my!

Pardon the paraphrase of the Wizard of Oz, but I couldn’t resist!  I spent a good portion of Sunday morning/afternoon broadcasting live from the 24th Annual Arkansas Sports Show at the Convocation Center, and it was a lot of fun!  So much to see, do, and eat!  I enjoyed watching the kids interact with the live animals at the Barton’s petting zoo (0kay, I admit…I couldn’t resist petting the squealing baby pig and the young calf!), feasted on Li’l Orbits mini-donuts (thanks, Herschel!) and a huge brick of ice cream dipped in chocolate, and even got a kick out of watching the black bears perform (although at times they seemed like they didn’t really feel like doing any Stupid Pet Tricks).  But most of all, it was great to say “Howdy” to so many folks who said they listen to our stations!  And it was very gratifying and humbling to hear so many nice comments about our coverage of Winter Blast ‘09!  We just look at it as doing our job, but many of you told me of your gratitude to us for being there when you had no other source of information.  All I can say is, “Thank YOU for listening!”  And as you’ll hear me often say on the air, “It just goes to show that you’re a smart person with good taste” for making us your choice for a radio station!
